What’s Coming And Going From US Netflix In November

November is a solid month for Netflix. You’ve got the new She-Ra, a new season of MST3K, a previously unfinished Orson Welles film, and classics like The English Patient, Good Will Hunting, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. And the site is only losing a few hit films. Here’s everything coming and going from Netflix in October.

Note: This list refers to the US version of Netflix. It has a different library to Australia which changes from month to month. This information is only relevant to readers who access US Netflix using a VPN. Our roundup of new Netflix Australia content can be found here.

Highlights

Movies

We’re getting some good movies this month: The English Patient, Jiro Dreams of Sushi, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Good Will Hunting, Julie & Julia, Animal House, Sixteen Candles, Children of Men, Cloverfield, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and one of the Cape Fears—which one will it be!?

Orson Welles’s unfinished mockumentary The Other Side of the Wind is finally completed and restored, along with a documentary about its creation, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead. Outlaw King and the Coen brothers’ The Ballad of Buster Scruggs look promising.

Netflix’s Christmas originals look like a pungent cinnamon-nutmeg satchet. In The Princess Switch, “when a down-to-earth Chicago baker and a soon-to-be princess discover they look like twins, they hatch a Christmastime plan to trade places.” A Christmastime plan!

In Netflix sequel A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding: “Amber’s getting ready to walk down the aisle with Richard. But she’s not so sure she’s cut out to be queen.”

And Kurt Russell plays Santa in Netflix original The Christmas Chronicles—not to be confused with Katt Williams: The Pimp Chronicles: Pt. 1.

Shows

This is a big month for Netflix original shows, such as the much buzzed-about, much feared by a certain kind of neckbeard, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

Robot roll call! Mystery Science Theatre 3000: The Gauntlet roasts six new movies.

Death by Magic sounds cool: British magician Drummond Money-Coutts investigates the magic tricks that claimed the lives of their performers.

The Last Kingdom and Frontier are back. And will House of Cards get good again now that Kevin Spacey’s gone? Did Beau Willimon ever really have a plan for this show past, like, season 2? Whoever’s still watching will find out!

In existing shows, there’s the latest season of The Great British Bake-Off (series 9 aka Collection 6), and season 1 of Homecoming. That’s pretty much it.

Comedy

Trevor Noah, John Leguizamo, and Jeff Ross & Dave Attel have new specials, and variety show Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj continues with new weekly episodes.

Last Call

Say goodbye to Amelie, Cruel Intentions, Steel Magnolias, Paddington, all three Jurassic Parks, and the first three Lands Before Time.
