Google Pixel 3 And Pixel 3 XL: Australian Pricing, Specs And Release Date

Google has finally unveiled its Android smartphones for 2018 – the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. There are a host of new hardware additions compared to last year’s phones, including a notched display on the XL. If you’re planning on grabbing a Pixel 3 or a Pixel 3 XL, here’s everything you need to know, including Australian pricing, release date and specifications.

Google Pixel 3 Specifications

If Google followed Apple’s naming convention, this would probably be an ‘S’ year. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL constitute a minor upgrade compared to the Pixel 2 range. The main improvements are to the display (which are slightly bigger than last years models), speakers (an impressive 40% louder) and camera (which introduces a range of new software tools including Top Shot and Night Sight.)

As previously reported, Active Edge is also back, which triggers custom actions when you squeeze the phone.

This time, a video has surfaced on Google Japan’s official YouTube channel that appears to confirm the return of Active Edge; one of Pixel 2’s most unique features. (So it’s less of a leak and more of a deliberate tease.) Here are the details!”]

Other than screen size, there’s not much separating these two phone models which share the same CPU, memory and native resolution – much like the iPhone XS and XS Max. One notable difference is the display-eating notch that only appears on the XL. (Yes, the rumours were true sadly.)
