If you fancy a shiny new Galaxy Note9, Telstra is offering some pretty sweet deals. Along with the Note9, which comes with 512GB of storage for the price of 128GB, Telstra is throwing in a Galaxy Tab A at no extra cost. The device is being offered under Telstra’s new plans, which aim to simplify life for consumers.
Telstra is offering up both the Midnight Black and Ocean Blue options on the Note9. If you order before 23 August 2018, you’ll score a 512GB unit for the same price as the 128GB version. And they’re throwing in the Bonus Samsung Tab A 8.0, which is last year’s version and valued at $456. (The bonus tablet may be shipped up to 4 weeks after the handset.)
All the plans Telstra is offering include unlimited calls and text.
The mobile data offerings work like this.
Small – 3GB per month: plus $10 each for peace of mind data, international calls and text from Australia, international roaming
Medium – 10GB per month: plus $10 each for peace of mind data, international calls and text from Australia, international roaming
Large – 30GB per month: plus $10 for international roaming, bonus Foxtel Go
Extra large – 60GB per month: plus bonus Foxtel Go, 2GB international roaming data, unlimited international calls and text from Australia
Ultimate – Unlimited: plus bonus Foxtel Go, 10GB international roaming data, unlimited international calls and text from Australia
Telstra is offering the Galaxy Note9 under two different plan types. Telstra Mobile Plans cost about $10 per month more than Telstra Mobile Lease Plans. With a mobile plan, at the end of the two year contract, you own the device. With the lease plans, you need to hand the device back at the end of the contract.
Here’s what that looks like for the 512GB Galaxy Note9. The 128GB version is less expensive, with the monthly fees running at between $7 and $15 a month less. That’s important as if you order before 23 August 2018 you’ll score a free upgrade to the 512GB Galaxy Note9.

Telstra’s plans aren’t like to be the cheapest on offer – the company charges a premium for access to their network. But their coverage in Australia, particularly outside large cities and towns is solid and the inclusion of international data is handy for frequent international travellers.
And the other extras, such as the Galaxy Tab A tablets and Foxtel Go on the more expensive plans, as well as access to AFL, NRL and netball add to the total package.
