Getting to know the ins and outs of photography doesn’t have to dry or boring. All you need is the right stimuli — say, Star Wars LEGO — and before you know it, you’ll be a Jedi camera master.
There’s a three-part series on YouTube by PHLEARN’s Aaron Nace that uses Star Wars LEGO to show the differences between aperture, ISO and shutter speed.
Various figures and vehicles from the sci-fi space opera serve as photo subjects — for example, emphasising the “speed” of a snow-speeder by tweaking the shutter. Each lesson is contained in its own video, all three of which you’ll find below.
What is Aperture
What is ISO
What is SHUTTER SPEED?
The clips range in length from five to seven minutes, so even if you only have a passing interest in photography (or Star Wars), they’re well worth a watch.

You may have picked up bits and pieces about aperture, shutter speed and exposure, but how do these elements work together to create a great photo?”]
