The Aperol Spritz Is Like A Grown Up Orange Soft Drink

Happy weekend, and welcome back to 3-Ingredient Happy Hour, the weekly drink column featuring super simple yet delicious libations. Today I felt like a bubbly, slightly citrusy and refreshing beverage was in order.

I’ve never known the Aperol spritz to be unpopular. If you’ve never had Aperol, it’s kind of like Campari Lite. It’s sweeter, less bitter, and just a little friendlier all around. When combined with Prosecco and a splash of sparkling water, it’s almost like a grownup orange soft drink. To make your own, you will need:

  • 45-60ml Aperol (it is officially suggested you use equal parts Aperol and Prosecco, but you may favour a more vino-heavy ratio)
  • 60ml Prosecco
  • A splash of sparkling water

Fill a glass with ice, and add Aperol and Prosecco. Give it a slight stir, add a splash of sparkling water, and garnish with an orange slice if you wish to increase your ingredient count.
