That Startup Show: See It First On Lifehacker

Tech TV series That Startup Show is returning – and you can see it first every week on Lifehacker.

The award-winning online show focuses on all things entrepreneurial, with each episode hosted by Gizmodo’s very own Rae Johnston, alongside author and media personality Benjamin Law.

This series will explore startup culture in a rapidly changing world, where robotics, blockchain and AI are bringing new — and uncertain – ways to do business every day.

Brought to you by That Startup Show, Australia’s number one show about startup culture! Weekly episodes premiering on Lifehacker from July 17.

Expect banter, big-name guests and brilliant business tips! That Startup Show will also see rising stars pitch their big business ideas to industry leaders in a bid to secure funding and mentoring.

Check back next Tuesday, July 17 to see episode one, in which Rae and co will be tackling the myths and legends of the mysterious startup world.

Joining the discussion will be journalist and Recode co-founder Kara Swisher and Australia’s own startup legend Patrick Llewellyn, CEO of 99Designs.

They’ll be pulling back the curtain on the hard realities founders face, asking what makes someone choose the uncertainty of a startup and hearing from those who built business empires instead of following conventional 9-to-5 careers.

That kicks off an epic season of discussions on the biggest talking points facing startups today.

NASA Astronaut Pamela A. Melroy and Fleet CEO Flavia Tata Nardini will stop by in episode two to take us on a whirlwind journey to the world of space tech.

Plus, if you’ve ever wondered just how startups get their funding, we’ll hear from the experts themselves in the form of Jo Ann Cockran of Partner Golden Seeds and Horizon State CEO and founder, Jamie Skella.

That Startup Show is filmed weekly in Melbourne, backed by Launch Vic and the Department of Industry, Innovation & Science. Find ticket information here if you’d like to be in the audience.
