Ratehacker: June’s Best Credit Card, Savings Account And Home Loan Deals

In our monthly Ratehacker round-up, Jeremy Cabral from comparison site finder.com.au highlights the latest credit card deals, plus the best savings accounts and home loans.

Credit Cards

Feature: Bonus Qantas Points

American Express Westpac Altitude Platinum Bundle: This dual card bundle lets you earn up to 90,000 Qantas Points. To earn the maximum, you’ll need to spend $3,000 on the Visa within 90 days of approval (which earns 75,000 points) and $3,000 on the Amex within 90 days of approval (which earns 15,000 points). The normal annual fee of $199 for both cards is reduced in the first year, where you’ll only pay $50 as a Qantas Rewards fee. This offer is only available to applications through finder.com.au before 31 July 2018.

Feature: 0 percent balance transfer

HSBC Platinum Credit Card: 0 percent balance transfer for 22 months This card offers 0 percent interest on transferred balances for up to 22 months (after that, it reverts to the cash advance rate, currently 21.99% per annum). There’s no annual card fee in the first year. New purchases on the card attract 19.99% per annum if you don’t pay them off in full each month.

Home Loans

Feature: Variable rate home loan

Tic:Toc Live in Loan Variable Rate: Comparison rate of 3.53% per annum This comparison rate is one of the lowest on the market right now. To qualify, you’ll need to have at least a 20% deposit saved. It’s only available for properties in capital cities and regional centres. It offers redraws, flexible repayment schedules and has an optional offset account.

Feature: Refinancing home loan

UBank UHomeLoan (Variable Rate): Comparison rate of 3.69% per annum To qualify for this rate, you’ll need to be an owner occupier borrowing between $200,000 and $700,000, and you’ll need a deposit saved of at least 20%. The loan includes $0 application fee and no maintenance fees.

Savings Accounts

Feature: High introductory rate

RaboDirect High Interest Savings Account: Introductory rate of 3.05% per annum It’s tough scoring more than 3% per annum on a savings account right now. This account offers 3.05% for the first four months after opening, then reverts to 1.80%. The rate applies to balances under $250,000.

Personal Loans

Feature: Used car loan

SCU Special Variable Rate Car Loan: Variable rate 5.95% per annum Unusually, this loans is available for cars up to three years old (many car loans restrict vehicle age to two years or under). The loan is available for up to $50,000 and for terms up to seven years. The application fee will be waived if you apply before 30 June 2018.

Travel Insurance
