We know that some postures and gestures, like genuine smiles, increase attractiveness and a sense of connection. Daily Infographic has rounded up in one visual ways that your body might speak louder than words on a date.

Some of the hints are fairly obvious, such as crossing your arms being a sign you're closed off. Also ignore inane suggestions, such as the one for men about wearing your ring to appear more attractive. But there are still interesting tips you might glean from the infographic, such as shifting position (if you're a woman) to find out if a guy is interested in you, as men tend to mirror women's body language when they're attracted to the woman.

If you're more interested in body language for professional reasons, check out the body language to avoid when giving a presentation.

I find the me should wear a ring statement sad and disappointing. Not really sure what it says about the women who were attracted to them. But doesn't seem good at a glance.

I'm also pretty sure I read an article that stated women found smiling men less attractive (talking initial first impressions). Here we go, not the original article but close enough.

I think you are thinking about the ring in terms of infidelity rather than attraction.

One of the things that plays into this is group consensus, if you are with an attractive woman this makes you more attractive to the women around you as you're prescreened and have a certain social proof already. verse if you are alone or with a group of guys, there is no value boost.

Same would happen with the ring. You must be at least X social status to be in a committed relationship and are considered prescreened and hence more attractive.

I find it disappointing for two reasons, one it's mentioned in an article about making yourself more attractive to the opposite sex. Meaning the author is advocating that you pretend to be married in order to attract women (so lie basically).

If we extrapolate that further, it's about actually dating or hooking up with these people. So if you're hooking up with someone who sees the ring you're hooking up with someone with pretty poor morals.

If it was just about making friends, or something I'd be ok with it. But look at the article's file name.
