Win: $30,000 To Bring Your Big Sustainable Technology Idea To Life

Glen Grant Single Malt Scotch was built on the idea that innovation should move everyone forward, not just the innovators.

Founded by brothers John and James Grant in 1840, Glen Grant has always been more than just a whisky distillery – they helped usher in the industrial revolution to the Scottish Highlands.

John and James Grant championed the first major railroad in Speyside and also installed Northern Scotland’s first engine house – becoming the North’s first whisky distillery with electric light.

In 1872, second generation distiller James ‘The Major’ Grant introduced the first motorcar to the Highlands, but he was better known for ushering in a new era of innovation, using unique purifiers in the whisky distillation process which ultimately revolutionised single malt Scotch whisky.

This distillation technology in combination with the natural essence of their surroundings, led to the creation of a single malt like no other – from barley to bottle in one place.

Now, Glen Grant want to help other innovators bring environmentally sustainable new technologies to Australia, with the Gizmodo x Business Insider New Technologies Grant.
