Amazon WorkSpaces Adds Mouse Support To iPad Devices

One of the complaints people make about the iPad, particularly the larger iPad Pro, is that it fails as a serious productivity machine because it lacks support for pointing devices such as mice. AWS has addressed that by adding support for the SwiftPoint GT mouse to Amazon WorkSpaces.

Amazon WorkSpaces is AWS’ virtual desktop platform. And while it’s worked on iOS devices for some time it now delvers a more desktop-like experience for users.

AWS says that enabling the mouse support is simply a matter of enabling Bluetooth on the iPad and mouse and then pairing them. The mouse will then work just like it would on a regular computer.

It’s a pity Apple won’t provide mouse support within iOS. They certainly have the capability.

The bad news – the SwiftPoint GT mouse is not cheap. You won’t get a lot of change from $200 – which I think is an exorbitant price for a mouse.
