How To Get Pixel 3’s Leaked Features On Your Current Android

Android: The Pixel 3 probably won’t be official until October (when Google typically announces its latest flagship phones), but you can bring a bit of the rumoured device to your current Android handset right now. All you need is the latest version of this launcher.

A recent update to the unofficial Pixel 2 launcher copies a small change hidden in the current Pixel 2 software. Spotted by XDA-Developers, this update makes a small but notable change to Google’s UI. The search bar, which appears on the phone’s home screen and in the App Drawer, is split in two so that the voice command icon becomes a separate button.

Here’s what it looks like in action. Remember, this is likely one of many minor tweaks Google will make to the Pixel 3’s software.

To get the new software design on your current Android device, all you need to do is download this launcher from XDA senior member paphonmb. Grab the latest update here, install it on your phone, and then open up launcher settings to switch on the new feature.

It isn’t a huge change, but hopefully this will hold you over until Google reveals all the new features coming later this week with the Pixel 3 and Android P.
