This week we’re putting a chilly spin on a classic winter warmer: Mulled wine.”]
Wassail is a spiced, mulled apple cider drink that is usually served warm, and was originally consumed as part of a ritual intended to ensure that ye olde apple harvest would be plentiful. You can find bottles of pre-spiced wassail at many stores and, once purchased, you can add alcohol to them. To give this Medieval offering a fizzy, modern make-over, you will need:
- 30ml gin
- 30ml wassail (or any other spiced cider)
- Sparkling wine to top
Add gin and chilled wassail to a champagne flute and top with chilled sparkling wine.
