If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a Galaxy S9 but aren’t quite sure you’re ready to bite the bullet, Samsung has created a way for you to give the phone a test drive using your current device.

The Experience app for Galaxy S9/S9+ can be installed on any Android phone running Android 6.0 or higher and will give you a feel for what the “S9 Experience” might be like.

Really the best way to decide if you’re going to enjoy using a phone is to actually try the phone out in person. If you’re considering buying an S9, I’d recommend hitting up your local mobile store (doesn’t even have to be your carrier) and taking it out for a spin once it launches next week. Seriously. Don’t drop cash on something you’ve never seen, but plan on using everyday.

That said, there’s something to be said for learning more about a device before you schlep your way to the store.

The app walks you through the phone’s new camera features and how AR Emoji and super slow-motion work. It also explains the new facial recognition features in the S9, highlights the phone’s new location for the fingerprint sensor, and shows how the new Dolby Atmos speakers work.

It’s worth noting that most of those features are going to require the hardware in the S9 to operate, so you’re really just getting a rundown of features with this app rather than a real simulated experience of what it’s like to use the S9. Most of the demos are videos showing you how something might work if you had an S9 in your hand rather than another device.

That said, if you’re interested in learning more about the phone, this can be a decent place to get started, and if you make your way through the demos, you’ll be a pro at all those new features before the phone arrives on your doorstep.
