Hang Your Guests’ Coats Over The Tub

Hang Your Guests’ Coats Over The Tub

When you have a few guests over to an apartment, and you don’t have a dedicated coat rack, coats usually go on the bed. But if it’s wet out, and you have a nice bedspread, grab some hangers and have guests hang their coats from the shower curtain rod over the tub instead.

That’s, uh, that’s it really. The bathroom is a good temporary mud room. If your shower rod is strong enough, and you have enough empty hangers, you can handle a whole party’s worth of coats.

Guests can also leave their muddy boots here, instead of crowding your welcome mat or hallway. Umbrellas, obviously, go inside the tub. (Everyone can still leave their purses and other clean accoutrement on the bed.)

It might make the leaving process a little awkward, as people are using the bathroom both as a coat room and a bathroom. But on the upside, guests don’t have to dig their coats out from under other coats. And more crucially, your bed won’t be soaked with rain.
