Dealhacker: Get $200 Off The Samsung Galaxy S9

The Samsung Galaxy S9 officially goes on sale in Australia today. With a recommended retail price of $1199, it’s certainly not the cheapest smartphone on the market.

Thankfully, Kogan has managed to shave off a cool $200, bringing the total to a slightly more palatable $999. Here are the details.

This deal isn’t quite as good as Woolworth’s $300 discount from a few weeks ago – but on the plus side, you aren’t forced to spend extra money on a Woolworth’s mobile plan either.

Kogan is billing its Samsung Galaxy S9 offer as a “pre-sale” price. However, the deal is still available on its website at the time of writing. It also covers all available colours if you’re not into the boring black version.

Pretty much everywhere else in Australia is selling the Galaxy S9 for $1199. So what’s the catch?

The chief difference is that this is an imported model. While it still comes with an Australian warranty, you don’t get a Samsung-branded AC charger with this device. Instead, Kogan supplies a ‘AU/NZ Compliant Generic Charger’ which isn’t quite up to the same quality.

Nevertheless, even if you go out and purchase an official Samsung charger you will still be way ahead in terms of price. You can grab the Samsung Galaxy S9 from Kogan here.
