The Western Bulldogs and Brisbane Lions will meet at Ikon Park this Saturday afternoon in the AFLW Grand Final. For the Lions, redemption from last year’s Grand Final loss looms while the Dogs will have to contend with their own loss – that of captain Katie Brennan, to suspension.

What Is The AFLW Grand Final?
The final game of the AFLW season. Eight teams started, two teams remain. After seven rounds, where each of the eight teams play each other once, two teams ended up on top of the ladder – the Western Bulldogs and the Brisbane Lions. It wasn’t easy.
The Bulldogs had a commanding season, earning themselves five wins from seven games. All they needed to do was win, against Melbourne, last Saturday night to guarantee themselves a spot. After a last minute goal, the Dogs took the lead by two points and ended up running out victors. Sadly for Melbourne, this meant their season was likely over.
The Lions had to wait until last Sunday afternoon, when the Adelaide Crows played Collingwood. If the Crows won, they’d have made the Grand Final, but a plucky Collingwood outfit bested them in a come from behind victory. That victory saw the Lions sneak into second place and return to the Grand Final for the second year in a row.
Now, cliche after cliche says that the stage is set for one final showdown between two AFLW titans. They’ll have to give 110 percent and really show full credit to the girls to get themselves over the line.

How To Watch The AFLW Grand Final 2018 Live, Online, Free
The free-to-air rights belong to Channel 7 who haven’t exactly made AFLW a high priority on their schedule unless you’re living in SA or Victoria. If you’re trying to catch the Grand Final on free to air in these states, you’re best bet is to switch to Channel 7 or Channel 70. Outside of there and more regional, you’ll need to switch to 7Mate, Channel 73 or the equivalent in regional and rural areas.
This feature should also be available to those wanting to stream the match on their desktop – you can head straight to the 7plus website, set your location and go from there.
Fortunately, the easiest way to watch, without all the fussing about with a TV, is with the AFLW app. The app has live access to every single AFLW game, including the Grand Final, plus news, reports and updates. You can find the app on the Play Store and on the App Store here. Telstra customers will be able to stream all the games without paying any fees for data, too!
The Grand Final is also free to attend, so if you’re in or around Melbourne’s Ikon Park this weekend, you can head down to the game and watch for free.
