What Is The AFLW Grand Final?

The final game of the AFLW season. Eight teams started, two teams remain. After seven rounds, where each of the eight teams play each other once, two teams ended up on top of the ladder – the Western Bulldogs and the Brisbane Lions. It wasn’t easy.

The Bulldogs had a commanding season, earning themselves five wins from seven games. All they needed to do was win, against Melbourne, last Saturday night to guarantee themselves a spot. After a last minute goal, the Dogs took the lead by two points and ended up running out victors. Sadly for Melbourne, this meant their season was likely over.

The Lions had to wait until last Sunday afternoon, when the Adelaide Crows played Collingwood. If the Crows won, they’d have made the Grand Final, but a plucky Collingwood outfit bested them in a come from behind victory. That victory saw the Lions sneak into second place and return to the Grand Final for the second year in a row.

Now, cliche after cliche says that the stage is set for one final showdown between two AFLW titans. They’ll have to give 110 percent and really show full credit to the girls to get themselves over the line.

Fortunately, the easiest way to watch, without all the fussing about with a TV, is with the AFLW app. The app has live access to every single AFLW game, including the Grand Final, plus news, reports and updates. You can find the app on the Play Store and on the App Store here. Telstra customers will be able to stream all the games without paying any fees for data, too!
