We're the best, we're SA BEST, come on and put us to the test. Make a change in the nick of time, forget the rest.
That's the chorus of Nick Xenophon's new ad campaign for his political party SA BEST. In the ad, Xenophon lays down a rap that rivals 'Friday' in its awkwardness, discussing the fact that kids are leaving SA, power prices are rising, public health is struggling and the Government's overspending.
There's a choreographed dance routine in the middle of a park, some kids skating around, a man in a black hoodie and speed dealers looking shady and a whole lot of people putting their index finger in the air. When discussing public health, Xenophon is wheeled into a nondescript ward on a gurney and rises up like the Undertaker, staring blankly at the screen.
Later, the independent pollie points off screen at.. well, I am not really sure. He just laughs and points.
From start to finish, this thing is a beautiful, cringeworthy disaster that every Australian needs to watch.
I don't even know if it's deliberate? It has to be right? Like, it's 2018 and making a poor rap video for your political party cannot be a thing?
Surely it's deliberately this bad.
