The KFC Big Bash League has provided plenty of highlights over the last couple of months and now, two teams remain to battle it out over forty overs. The Adelaide Strikers have been around the mark for a few years now, whereas the Hobart Hurricanes have been... rather poor, finishing outside the finals for the last three years. Either way, it'll be a history making final, with both teams vying for their very first BBL title.

Here's how you can watch the KFC BBL Final live and online.

What Is The KFC Big Bash League?

The KFC Big Bash League, BBL|07 or simply The BBL, is Australia's preeminent, professional Twenty20 competition - you know, that form of cricket where each team gets twenty overs each to blast the ball to smithereens? You can expect a lot of boundaries, bouncers, classic catches and so many sixes. It takes place over the summer and features eights teams: the Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and the Sydney Thunder.

The competition began back in 2011 and has continued in its current format since replacing the old Big Bash league in that year. The Perth Scorchers are the current champions.

The final will be contested by the Adelaide Strikers and the Hobart Hurricanes who have both had pretty impressive seasons. The Strikers made it to the final by defeating the Renegades by a single run, while Hobart were too strong for the Scorchers.

When Is The KFC BBL Final?

The final begins at 4pm AEDT, January 4, from Adelaide Oval in, you guessed it, Adelaide, South Australia. A curtain raiser to decide the Women's BBL champion takes place from 11am AEDT.

How To Watch The Big Bash League 2017

Channel Ten have the exclusive rights to the Big Bash League and broadcast on free-to-air TV every night. Unfortunately, it does not appear that you will be able to stream the games on TenPlay, Ten's online streaming platform and app. Moreover, Foxtel will not be carrying the BBL matches. TEN really want you to tune in on free-to-air, it seems!

You could also sign up for a subscription to but this will set you back $29.99 a year – a pretty reasonable price if you're looking for a quality stream of every single game and don't have access to a TV.

On the other hand, if a yearly pass isn’t your thing, then you can always grab a 24 hour pass for $5.99 but that seems exorbitant, considering streaming just five games over the competition will set you back the full cost of a year. The option is there though.

If you’re an Optus customer and are eligible for Optus Sport, you’re covered for the entire summer of cricket already, you’ll just need to activate your subscription. Make sure you download the Cricket Australia live app and connect your Optus account.

If you're looking to grab a stream, my last recommendation is to always keep one eye firmly planted on the Reddit cricket community. They have a fantastic wiki full of useful information and ways to stream for those trying to watch the Ashes outside of the usual sources posted above. There's a vibrant, global community on Reddit that tend to help each other out with these sorts of things so no matter where you're coming from, you should be able to find what you're after.

From early inspection, it doesn't seem like there are a lot of options, but when the games begin you may find yourself in luck. You can also follow the KFC BBL Twitter which provides running commentary throughout the match.

Big bash cricket league is my favorite event I would say because of quality cricket. It helps me in learning cricket more quickly and Redbacks is the team I am supporting because it has lots of leading players of T20.

Ah second to the IPL for me, but defo one of my fav sporting events of the year.

Ha, once again switching away from aTelstra was the right move.

Was never gonna watch the ashes online, but casting the BBL, totally
