The only thing more divine than floating around in a pool on a hot summer’s day is floating around in a pool with a refreshing beverage. But once you’re settled in your doughnut shaped floatie, the last thing you want to do is get out to refresh your beverage. Luckily, The Kitchn has a cheap and easy solution for this summertime sadness: All you need is some pool noodles.
Click the link below for the very detailed instructions (and a very helpful slideshow), but the whole thing is pretty easy to assemble. Just grab a plastic storage container and cut a pool noodle into pieces to fit each side, making sure to cut the ends at 45-degree angles so they fit together nicely. Slice each noodle section along the bottom, place them over the edges of the storage container, fill it with ice and drinks, and place it in the pool.

Except the ice will melt mega fast because of the massive heatsink it is in direct contact with. Dumb idea.
yeah i had an inflatable thingy that went on an esky, even with the extra insulation it heated up super fast. just chuck your cooler on the side of the pool.
I went to a pool party once where the owner chucked all the beer into the deep end of the pool. (which kept it cool enough) If you wanted a drink you had to swim and dive for it.
If you were too drunk to dive down and get your own drink, then that was your limit for the night!
Glass in the pool? Bad idea…
