Taste Test: Kombucha Fermented Fungal Tea Is Worse Than Bin Juice [Video]

Tonicka Kombucha is a health tonic made from fermented fungus and “beneficial” bacteria. We recently tried a bottle only to discover it tastes about as good as it sounds. Here is the video proof.

Tonicka Kombucha is the latest entrant in the fermented tea market. (Yeah, there’s actually a market for this stuff.) The ingredients consist of filtered water, certified organic raw sugar, certified organic bancha tea and kombucha culture.

It purports to provide a range of health benefits, including the ability to “revitalise” your gut flora. Yeuck. It also claims to naturally balance your body’s pH levels. You can find out more about the beverage on the company’s Facebook page.

As the above video attests, it tastes like a mixture of unwashed feet, bin juice and stale vinegar. Definitely an acquired taste.
