Get your best dancing, hard-sole shoes on because a Legobar is coming to Australian cities this year and yes, it is exactly what it sounds like.

If you’ve ever thought “Lego and beer are perfect for each other”, then the Legobar is a pop-up bar built entirely from Lego, specifically for you. Currently, the only information we have on the Legobar is that it “will feature sculptures made completely from lego bricks as well as an abundance of blocks for people to shape into their own creations”. An ‘abundance of blocks’ is terrifying for my fragile, weak toes.

Man, I hope they have a Millennium Falcon set though.

The bar will also feature live music, with a DJ dropping tunes ‘all day’.

I can’t imagine that it’s anthem will be anything but Ed Sheeran’s ‘Lego House’. Every night at closing time, as the dim lights begin to flare back into life, there will be much rejoicing. All the patrons will gather and they’ll scream at the top of their lungs, beer sloshing around in their pint glasses “I’M GONNA PICK UP THE PIECES AND BUILD A LEGO HOUSE!” before waffling through the back half of the song because “who really knows the words anyway, right, Darren?”

I can already picture it. It’s glorious.

(If you’re reading this Legobar and you haven’t thought of that idea yet, call me)

The first-of-its-kind bar is building up to a launch sometime in Autumn 2018 and are set to hit Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

If you’re excited for creating Lego masterpieces while drinking beer, then you should pre-register your interest at the Legobar website ASAP. Access will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Let’s hope that excess Lego beer consumption doesn’t result in shitting bricks.

Sounds like an accurate headline to me. (Unless the website is lying, of course.)

      • Hmmm, the article did not make mention of that at all, just that it will have sculptures and Lego bricks to play with. Does not seem to mesh with the headline at all which sometimes happens here.

But yes, I did not read the linked article. So I stand corrected and apologise.

I still stand that it will not work. Or be made with things besides Lego.

          • Prediction: Lego Legal Department shut this down. They won’t be able to mention the word Lego or use the logo without permission, and if they are buying the lego in bulk then Lego Company can veto the sale of lego bricks under the terms and conditions. They have done it in the past to artists and builders they don’t think are kid friendly or are too political or controversial.

          • Haha that too. I was more thinking structurally. Even a seat that was a fully solid would split and break apart with the weight of a person on it.

          • I’m imagining the carnage of someone dropping a lego beer. Bricks everywhere, waiting to catch any bare foot…
