If you’re the kind of person that hates crowds (me), shopping (me) and can’t deal with Christmas carols all day long (me) – then online is the way to get your Christmas shopping done. The only caveat is making sure your deliveries arrive on time. Here are those all-important dates for JB Hi-Fi, Amazon Australia, Big W, Kmart and more.
Tech
Most consumer tech retailers including Amazon Australia, Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi have same-day or three-hour delivery options, so these will be good for any last minute gifts. Just remember that Christmas falls on a Monday and these options are not available on the weekend. Thus, the last day is December 22.
EB Games: Though no formal recommendations appear on site, standard Delivery I would recommend by December 15 for all Metro areas. You can get Express delivery, which will allow for next-day delivery for Metro areas.
Bose: December 15 (WA, NT, Far North QLD, TAS), December 18 (Adelaide, Regional VIC, Regional NSW, South QLD), December 19 (Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney)
Sonos: Ship day of order if placed before 12pm. No explicit date but would suggest giving three or four days for delivery. December 18 at a guess.
Sony: December 15 (NSW, ACT, QLD, VIC) December 12 (SA, WA, NT, TAS)
Microsoft: December 18
Department stores:
The big department stores have been lifting their game over the past couple of years but you’re still looking at a wait of a week or more for some. If you’re planning to buy from Big W or Kmart, Click & Collect is a safer bet.
Big W Christmas Delivery cut-off: The official cut off date was December 6.
Target Christmas Delivery cut-off : No explicit date online, allow five days for shipping. December 18 the smartest bet, but would suggest even earlier, especially if regional.
Kmart Christmas Delivery cut-off: December 15 (Metro), December 11 (Regional)
David Jones Christmas Delivery cut-off: December 18 (Standard Delivery), December 20 (Express), December 23 (Click and Collect)
MYER Christmas Delivery cut-off: December 17 (Metro), December 13 (Regional). Have an express option too – order by December 21 (Metro).
JB Hi-Fi: JB Hi-Fi have same-day and three hour delivery options, so you should be able to order up until December 22.
