FaceTime A Boiling Pot So You Can Leave The Kitchen

FaceTime A Boiling Pot So You Can Leave The Kitchen

They say a watched pot never boils, but it’s unclear as to whether that addage applies to video calls. In a move I can only call “brilliantly lazy” one enterprising young man used his iPhone to monitor a pot of water he was trying to bring to a boil.

Now, I’m not saying this hack doesn’t have it’s risks. I wouldn’t, for example, FaceTime a pot of candy, or frying oil, or anything that required fast action on my part. But if you’re going to be simmering something for a while, or just want to leave the room for a bit and come back once your water is boiling, this is a decidedly millennial solution.
