Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Coming On October 17

Microsoft has announced the release date for the next major release of Windows 10. On October 17, almost right in the middle of the northern Fall/southern Spring, the latest version of Windows 10 will be available for download through WIndows Update.

A article at the Windows Blog rattles through all the new and updated features.

For the office, there are improvements to Inking Mode with the ability to annotate PDFs with some neat tricks like automatically straightening lines and being able to draw a table on a document and the software cleaning up all the lines.

Security gets some attention with enhancements to Windows Defender.

A new Game Mode is said to allow “games to use the full processing power of your device as if it was an Xbox game console” and lots of work has been done on mixed reality and accessibility.

Many of these enhancements have been available to those on Microsoft’s Insider Program so enterprise users have had an opportunity to test a lot of these features already.
