Dealhacker: Get A 65″ 4K TV For $797 From ALDI

If you’re still in the market for a new TV but you’re trying to save as much money as possible, the siren song of ALDI is calling.

As they often do – on a monthly basis, almost – ALDI’s selling another 65″ 4K TV on Saturday, September 16 for $797. The deal was spotted by a poster on Ozbargain, and as per usual you’ll need to grease up your car park elbow skills to guarantee grabbing a TV.

The 65″ model on offer is presumably the latest refresh of the 65″ TV that ALDI sold last year, also for the same price. There’s a note at the bottom of the Bauhn website about the 65″ 4K TV being available, but the product listing is broken so there’s no official specifications list.

Still, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect. If you were interested in last year’s bargain, Cam from Gizmodo did a neat breakdown of how the Bauhn TV stacked up. In short: you’re obviously getting what you pay for, but with a bit of attention to calibration and a soundbar, you can make not a lot go a long way.

It’s a ridiculously low price for a TV of that screen size and resolution — so is it a crap TV with a matching price tag, or a diamond in the rough? I wanted to find out. So I decided to pit it against the best TV you can buy.”]

The TV won’t go on sale for about a fortnight, so there should be plenty of to weigh up the pros and cons before making a decision. There should also be plenty of time for Bauhn to update their website, and when the full spec sheet goes online we’ll keep you posted.
