Google Launches Chrome Enterprise

With Microsoft’s cloud and hardware business units continuing to grow, Google is fighting back with the launch of Chrome Enterprise. This is a new version of Chrome OS that adds a bunch of management and security features that bolster the comany’s efforts to push further into the business market.

While consumerisation has resulted in more workers bringing their devices and expectations into the office, this has led to IT managers struggling to maintain security and easily distribute applications and other business features. By augmenting Chrome OS with more enterprise features, Google is bridging that gap.

Among the new features is the ability to manage Chrome Enterprise devices using an on-prem system, rather than relying purely on cloud-based tools. One of the first integrations for management will be delivered through VMware’s Workspace One solution.

Google will be hosting a webinar tomorrow at 11:00AM AEST so you can as questions and learn more. You can register for the webinar here.
