It’s a job title that has fallen out of fashion but system administrators are a vital part of making sure our applications and servers keep on working reliably. And today is the one day of the year when we acknowledge their efforts. It’s SysAdmin Day.
SysAdmins do many tasks that are invisible to end users but vital to the continued operation of systems. And they deal with a wide variety of different problems – everything from ensuring connectivity of systems across networks to user permission problems.
Apparently today is the 18th annual SysAdmin Day – it must be true because the internet told me. That handy website tells you how you can express your appreciation with pizza, ice cream and gifts.
Today, make sure you thank your friendly, neighbourhood SysAdmin for all they do to make your business’ tech work as seamlessly as possible.

I’m self employed so I don’t have one.
But to all the good SysAdmins out there that go above and beyond the call of duty, you guys and gals deserve freaking medals for your efforts!
