When completing your tax return, you’re entitled to claim deductions for some expenses, most of which are directly related to earning your income. However, you must have spent the money yourself without being reimbursed, it needs to be directly related to earning your income and you must have a record to prove it.
This should make things pretty straightforward, but there are a few “grey” areas that can often cause tax payer confusion. The quiz below attempts to clear up what you can and can’t claim:

Hrmmm, didn’t get the travel between jobs deduction, but at the same time, I really don’t care about that. Also, I found the wording of the questions difficult to follow. That kind of thing is good for school exams and stuff like that, but when you’re trying to raise awareness to rules and regulations, they should probably keep things clearer.
