Amazon Is Killing Off Its Free Android App Program

Amazon announced that its Underground store, the shopping app packed with free versions of a variety of apps for Android phones and Fire Tablets, will be ending.

The program, which launched back in 2015, was essentially an entirely separate store filled with free versions of apps. Access to the store will continue on through the end of winter and you’ll still be able to use any old apps you’ve downloaded, though apps can’t be updated after the end of this month.
