Slow cookers are a great tool for keeping food warm, but condensation can collect on the lid and drip down onto your delicious dishes. This isn’t so bad with soups and stews, but for less liquidy foods like mashed potatoes and mac and cheese, it can be a real pain. Luckily, there’s a cheap and easy solution: All you need is a kitchen towel.

Just drape the towel over the top of the slow cooker’s bowl, and place the lid back on top. The towel will soak up the excess moisture, preventing it from dripping down and thinning out your tasty taters (or whatever other tasty thing you’re keeping toasty).
