If you’re running Google Chrome 57 or above, it turns out there’s a hidden dark mode. Reddit user _paul- found the menu, which you can enable with a quick jump into the console menu.
The dark is, as you’d expect, dark, with a black background and white text. Here’s how to turn it on:
- Head to YouTube.
- Open up the developer menu by pressing Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows (Option +Shift+I on Mac).
- Click on Console.

Paste in this line of text:
document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=fPQ4jCL6EiE"then tap Enter. - Close the developer window and refresh the page.
- Click on the three line Settings icon on YouTube. Then click on Dark Mode.
That’s it, you now have an experimental dark mode available to you.

There is no option for “Dark Mode”

@djbear, if you are logged in, click on your profile picture top right, and there is a list of options, it is under that.

It worked for me. I clicked the three dotted vertical icon on the top right and among the options was dark mode.
I had the same problem, but then I figured it out. Make sure you are signed out on youtube, then click the three dots in the top right. Then sign back in and it should work
