Elevator Pitch: Travelport Locomote

Elevator Pitch is a regular feature on Lifehacker where we profile startups and new companies and pick their brains for entrepreneurial advice. This week, we’re talking with David Fastuca, CMO of Travelport Locomote.

In 128 words or less, explain your business idea

Travelport Locomote is a brilliantly simple corporate travel platform that empowers travel managers to drive change and achieve a quantum leap in program efficiencies. We help companies reduce the cost and time taken to manage travel, by providing a unique platform that does everything from planning, approving and booking travel, while enabling duty of care and traveler safety all from one place. More than an online booking tool, our range of app-powered workflows consolidates the entire travel lifecycle.

What strategies are you using to grow and finance your idea?

We’ve developed growth models for each of our key target markets that will help build our user base. We’ve implemented inbound and outbound marketing strategies, and have formulated tactical account-based marketing strategies. All of this in order to grow and expand our business offering.

What’s the biggest challenge facing your business?

As we’re a team in the midst of rapid growth our biggest challenge is currently dealing with the amount of great opportunities that come our way. We can’t complain, it’s not a bad problem to have.

How do you differentiate your business from your competitors?

At Travelport Locomote, we tackle corporate travel from a very different perspective from others in the market. Our platform is one of a kind and has been developed in a totally unique way. It allows businesses to set-up workflows with unique modules for how they travel today, while ensuring that they have the flexibility to adapt to how they will travel tomorrow as their company grows and changes.

What one phone, tablet or PC application could you not live without?

I couldn’t live without email apps on my phone. I still find email the best way to communicate.

What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received?

Simple: be resilient, be happy, be humble.
