BW Dance Turns Music Into Vibrations And Visualisations For The Deaf And Hard Of Hearing

iOS/Android: The beautiful thing about music is that you can hear it, but in a way, you can also feel it. BW Dance turns music into vibration signals and flashing lights so the deaf and hard of hearing community can visualise, feel, and dance to music.

Vitaliy Potapchuk, one of the app’s co-founders, explained the gist of it via Product Hunt:

I am a deaf developer and my immediate circles are also deaf (including my wife). I built BW Dance app to bring the “feeling” of the rhythm through vibrations and flashing lights into our silent world. Our deaf community has a lot of limitations and with this app one of those limitations can be defeated.

The app is easy to use. Once you download it to your smartphone, you simply add songs from your device. Select a song, hit play, and the app will visualise the music with a light ring and send vibrations to your phone along with the beat of the song. As you can see in the video above, this makes it possible to follow along with a song and dance to it, even when you can’t hear it.
