The 89th annual Academy Awards will soon be kicking off in Hollywood. Unfortunately, most of us will be stuck at our work desks during the live broadcast. If you're keen to see the glitz and glamour unfold in real time, here's how you can watch the Oscars in Australia.

Channel Nine has the rights to broadcast the Oscars in Australia, and it's kicking off coverage from 12:30PM AEDT when the ceremony itself starts. The winner for best film will be announced at approximately 4pm. You can watch the Oscars live on Channel Nine in your region from then.

Channel Nine will also be streaming the 89th Academy Awards through its 9Now streaming service. You can watch 9Now on your PC or laptop, and there are mobile apps for iOS and Android, but you'll need to create a My9 account and login to watch the stream.

If you have a Foxtel subscription, you can watch the Academy Awards live from 9am by either flicking to the E! Entertainment channel or live streaming it through Foxtel's mobile app for iOS or Android. The ceremony starts at 12:30PM. E! will also be broadcasting its Oscars After Party event.
