Kitchen cabinets have a habit of accumulating a lot little jars, most of which contain spices and seasonings. If you’re worrying about working your way through them before they lose their flavour, make like the folks at Extra Crispy and use them to make some “ad-libbed teas”.

- Cinnamon stick + sliced ginger + a pinch of turmeric = a spicy, anti-inflammatory cuppa.
- Red chilli pepper + a couple of cloves + honey = soothing sips for oncoming colds.
- Cardamom pods + sliced ginger + a few peppercorns = I just think this would taste good, especially with a little coconut milk.
