The Huge Screen, Colour-Changing Workspace

The Huge Screen, Colour-Changing Workspace

We’ve highlighted a bunch of multi-display setups recently, but this single-panel workspace from reader Wayne shows off that one display — especially when it’s huge — can be just as good looking as several. He submitted his setup to our Workspace Show and Tell Pool, and here are some more photos.

Here’s a shot of the actual working area, straight on:

I’ve always had issues with glass desks — I’m afraid I’ll break them, and then they get dusty and cloudy pretty easily, so you have to spend good time cleaning them and making sure they look good. And to be fair, that’s exactly what Wayne does here. His whole setup looks great. He outlines all of the gear and everything in a post at his blog (linked below), but here’s the great powering the setup:

Samsung 4K 55HU6950F
Apple Mac Pro
Apple iPhone 7Plus 256GB
Apple Airport Extreme
OWC ThunderBay 4 20TB Raid Drive
G-Tech® Studio 8TB External
G-Tech® Raid 8TB External
(2) Sonos Play:5
Sonos Sub (White)
Sony RX100 mIV mV
NES Classic Edition
Phillips Hue Lightstrip | Bridge Gen 2.0 | Colour Ambiance
Tingkam® RGB LED Flexible Strip Light
YI Home Camera
Beats by Dre Beats Pill 2.0 x Shady Records

You can see the Mac Pro and some of those hard drives in this shot below:

It’s also worth noting that those blue lights? Oh, they change colour. Here’s the same setup in red:

And there are tons more photos at his blog. You can check them out in our Flickr pool below, and definitely head over to his blog to see the full gallery. Let him know we sent you, and that you like what you see!
