Independent Telco Retailer Allphones Goes Into Administration

Allphones, one of Australia’s largest independent telco retailer, has gone into administration. It has over 80 stores across the country. The company was dealt a serious blow after Optus and Virgin Mobile pulled the plug on their distribution relationship with Allphones in 2013.

Allphones lost millions of dollars after the Virgin Mobile and Optus stopped allowing the company to resell their consumer mobile offerings. Optus owns Virgin Mobile.

Despite retaining an agreement to resell Vodafone services, it seems Allphones has failed to recover and has now entered into administration.

As first reported by ABC Online, the future of Allphones employees is uncertain at this point.

According to Business Insider Australia, PPB Advisory had been appointed the administrator.
