Prepare For The Week Ahead With A Sunday ‘Power Hour’

You probably have some tasks you do on the weekend to get ready for the week ahead, which can make your time off less enjoyable. Pack those tasks into a “power hour” on Sundays so you can make the most of your weekend and still have a smooth start to your work week.

Everyone has their own things they need to get done, but here are some common ones to get your list started for your power hour.

  • Pack your work bag. Gather anything you need to bring to the office on Monday and put it in your bag so you can grab it and go.
  • Put together snacks or light meal prep. Bag snacks for the week so you have stuff that’s easy to grab on your way out the door. You can even do a little meal prep, like portioning out smoothie ingredients or chopping common ingredients like onions.
  • Review your schedule. Take a brief look at the week ahead so you know if you have any meetings you need to prepare for or anything coming up that’s outside your normal schedule.
  • Make a Monday morning hit list. Write out anything you need to tackle first thing at work on Monday. You’ll be focused from the moment you walk in the door.

Beyond getting ready for the work week, you can also add chores or other personal tasks to this power hour, although that might extend the time needed to complete everything. But the intent remains the same: group together all that stuff you have to do so that you can spend the rest of the weekend on what you want to do.
