Planning on flying anywhere across Australia, around Asia or to Abu Dhabi or Los Angeles any time soon? If you feel like travelling in luxury, you’ll want to check this out: Virgin Australia has given us the heads up on a Mates Rates deal that could save you thousands of dollars on a business class plane ticket.
Mates Rates is Virgin’s monthly deals sale, and from midnight tonight Brisbane time (1AM AEDT for all the more sensible Daylight Savings Time-observing folk south of the border) there’s a 72-hour sale on business class fares across the carrier’s entire network. You’ll be able to save between 30 and 40 per cent on standard fares throughout the sale, which means business travelers and well-heeled fun-seekers should be able to take advantage of the savings.
From our own experience, Virgin’s Business Class on longer routes – Sydney to Perth, and some international destinations including long-haul to Abu Dhabi or Los Angeles – is bloody marvellous. It’s the newest business class suite in the sky on those long-haul routes, too, and it’s just about the nicest place to spend 15-odd hours.
