UHP Alarm Clock Forces You To Follow A Specific Path Before It Shuts Off

iOS: There’s no shortage of alarm clock apps to choose from, and many of them have creative ways of making sure you get out of bed. UHP Alarm Clock forces you to get out of bed by tracking your path.

The app is $2.99, but it does a good job of making sure you get your butt out of bed. It asks you where you want to go when you wake up, and unless you follow a path you specify, the alarm clock won’t turn off. You can also connect your Facebook and Twitter accounts to use the app’s social media alarm. If you don’t wake up on time, the app will post a status update to your channels notifying your followers that you slept in.

When I downloaded the app, I didn’t have to submit my email or any other contact info to use it. I just created an alarm, then recorded my path and it worked well. You obviously have to enable location access and, if you link your social media accounts to the app, you hand over that info, too. But according to their privacy policy, they don’t share this information:

By submitting your email and contact info through any forms on this site you are consenting to receive information from BeauxApps, LLC. We promise not to abuse this & not to share your contact information with any 3rd parties. In the (very unlikely) case that BeauxApps, LLC undergoes a transfer of ownership, we will do our best to notify you.

You can read their policy in full here. If you’re looking for an Android alternative, I like Morning Routine. It doesn’t force you to walk around, but you can use its “Scan Barcode” feature to fudge it (just make sure the barcode is in your bathroom, for example, so you have to get up for the alarm to stop).
