Pre-Make ‘Smoothie Starters’ In Muffin Tins For Super Quick Anytime Meals

Smoothies are a convenient and portable filling meal, but if you tend to drink a lot of smoothies, preparation and clean-up can be a hassle. Here’s a time-saving method: pre-make and freeze your smoothie ingredients in muffin tins for easy, breezy smoothies all week.

I found this coffee fig smoothie recipe from Muffin Tin Mania, but it was more her preparation method than the recipe itself that caught my eye. She spends one day blending together a batch of her ingredients, pouring it out evenly into a muffin tin (a silicone one, preferably), and freezing these “smoothie starters” for four hours. Afterwards, she transfers them to an airtight, freezer-friendly container and stores them for later. When it’s smoothie time, she pops one or two smoothie starters into the blender, adds liquid, and — presto! — smoothie is ready and delicious!

Awesome, right? Alternatively, you can also pre-cut and pre-assemble all your ingredients into separate baggies, but smoothie muffins sound just a tad cooler.
