OneDrive’s Latest Beta Frees Up Storage Space On Your Phone With Photo Backups

Android: If you prefer Microsoft’s OneDrive to backup your photos, you can now save space on your phone. When you upload more than 1GB of photos, the beta version of the app will ask if you want to delete the local copies.

This feature is very similar to what Google Photos has offered for a while. The OneDrive app allows you to access all of your photos at any time, so you probably don’t need to keep them on your phone. Just tap the notification and you can clear up space on your device instantly. This feature is still in testing, so you’ll need to join the OneDrive Google+ community and then sign up for the beta to use it.
