Everyone loves group photos, but getting one where everyone looks natural when they know they’re on camera isn’t easy. The key is to look as relaxed as possible, even if you’re the one taking the shot and encouraging your subjects to pose. Here’s what we mean.

Pay attention to your elbows and knees, and try to keep them relaxed. Once you’re ready for the shot, bend your arms and legs a little to better mimic how you naturally stand. If you’re taking the photo, encourage others to do the same. Relaxing other parts of your body helps, too. Pull your shoulders back and relax so you stand up straight and elongate your neckline.
