Watch: The Nintendo Switch Video Game Console In Action

The hotly anticipated and flat-out bonkers Nintendo Switch video game console just made its first debut on television. Watch Jimmy Fallon play a range of new Nintendo titles, including Super Mario Run and The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.

We still don't know much about the Switch's specifications or even how much it will cost - but the above video does contain some interesting tidbits, including the way games transition from docking station to portable handheld and the fact that all of the games will be stored on the console itself. As an added bonus, you also get to watch Fallon geek out about Mario while the original game's creator - living legend Shigeru Miyamoto - watches on. Bless.

    lifelong nintendo fan here

this is easily one of the most cringey things I've ever seen
I am so embarrassed that I'm considering taking a hammer to my wii
and to make things worse, they forced miyamoto to spectate this farce instead of yelling at him for what he did to starfox zero or getting him to do a new IP

I don't think I want a switch anymore, and I can't get excited about new super mario bros ... on the phone, definitely not as excited as jimmy fallon's obviously authentic outbursts
