If your glass of beer is mostly foam, you can make it drinkable faster with a simple chemistry trick. All you need is a little oil.
This video, from the Reactions YouTube channel, explains the science behind this clever technique. All you have to do is wipe a little oil off of your nose with your finger, then swirl it around in the foam a bit. It will be ready to drink in seconds. That said, you do want some foam, as it contributes to the flavour and mouth feel of the beer. And any oil will do, so don’t feel obligated to stick your nose where it doesn’t belong. You can use the oil from a french fry, a slice of pizza, or some olive oil. If you really can’t stand foam, though, you’re better off just pouring the beer properly in the first place.
