Make A Bird Feeder Out Of An Old Slinky

Make A Bird Feeder Out Of An Old Slinky

What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs, and… feeds animals in your yard? It’s Slinky! If you’re looking for a fun weekend project, here’s how you can transform one into a wildlife feeder.

In this video from the HouseholdHacker YouTube channel, you’ll see how that old Slinky sitting in your toy chest can find new life with a few simple tweaks. You’ll need some steel duct clamps from a hardware store, some thin wire or sting to hang it up, and of course, a Slinky (metal is best.)

Make a large loop with the duct clamp, slide on the Slinky, then fasten it together. Once that’s done, spread out the Slinky and fill it with peanuts so it looks like a nut-filled wreathe. Now hang it up in a tree and watch as birds and possums come and grab as many fruit and nuts as they can.
