HandBrake Finally Leaves Beta, Improves Presets, Gets A Little Easier To Use

Windows/Mac: HandBrake is the best tool for burning DVDs and converting video files on both Windows and Mac, and after 13 years in development, it has finally hit version 1.0.

Even if you’re not burning DVDs, Handbrake has always been a useful tool for converting between two video formats. To that end, HandBrake is a lot easier to use, with a new set of presets that that make it easy to convert to a number of popular video formats for specific devices. The update also is just slightly easier to use, especially on Mac, where they simplified the main menu screen and options panel so it’s a little less confusing. There’s also a slew of bug fixes, performance increases and additional formats added to this release. You’ll find a full list of all the updates over on HandBrake’s site.
