Make Your Pie Crust Even Tastier By Rolling It Out In Cookie Crumbs

Make Your Pie Crust Even Tastier By Rolling It Out In Cookie Crumbs

Pie crust is already pretty tasty on its own, but you can take it up a notch by rolling it out in cookie or cracker crumbs, rather than boring ol’ flour.

Not only does this add a little something texture-wise, it let’s you play around with complimentary flavours. Just pulverize everything into a fine powder, and roll out your dough like you usually would. Food52 has a whole bunch of great suggestions in the link below, but these are a few of my favourites:

  • Cheese crackers + apple
  • Digestive biscuits + banana cream
  • Chocolate wafers + chocolate cream

In addition to their tasty ideas, I’d like to submit the following for your consideration:

  • Ginger biscuits + lemon meringue
  • Oreos (creme filling removed)+ fresh strawberry

Really, the possibilities are endless, and I could play this game all day, but I’ll stop now and let you to get baking.
