Pie crust is already pretty tasty on its own, but you can take it up a notch by rolling it out in cookie or cracker crumbs, rather than boring ol’ flour.

Not only does this add a little something texture-wise, it let’s you play around with complimentary flavours. Just pulverize everything into a fine powder, and roll out your dough like you usually would. Food52 has a whole bunch of great suggestions in the link below, but these are a few of my favourites:
- Cheese crackers + apple
- Digestive biscuits + banana cream
- Chocolate wafers + chocolate cream
In addition to their tasty ideas, I’d like to submit the following for your consideration:
- Ginger biscuits + lemon meringue
- Oreos (creme filling removed)+ fresh strawberry
Really, the possibilities are endless, and I could play this game all day, but I’ll stop now and let you to get baking.
