Keep Your Kayak Or Surfboard Secure With This DIY Stand

Keep Your Kayak Or Surfboard Secure With This DIY Stand

Video: Kayaks and surfboards can be difficult to store safely and are easy to ding, but here’s a way to keep them off the ground and ready for your next adventure.

For under $50 in materials, you can build a wall-mounted rack to vertically secure your kayak or surfboard. This design is superior to others that use dowels, which can come loose. You’ll need a 2×4, two galvanised floor flanges, two steel pipes, pool noodle, rubber feet, utility tray and foam padding.

This rack can be used in your garage if your ceilings are tall enough, or outside against your home. Just make sure it’s bolted into studs and use eye hooks and bungee cords to keep your kayak secure. Check out the video to see the build in action.
