Get A Quick Shortcut To Google Photos From Your Camera App With This Setting

Android: In your default camera app, there’s probably a shortcut to your phone’s gallery app so you can quickly access the pictures you just took. If you’d rather use the awesome Google Photos app, there’s an easy way to add a shortcut to your camera.

To get the shortcut (as seen in the screenshot above), open up Google Photos and follow these steps:

  1. Slide out the left-hand navigation panel.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Toggle the “Camera shortcut” setting.

Now, the next time you take a picture you’ll see a shortcut to the Google Photos app. It won’t be permanent and it won’t replace the existing shortcut to the stock gallery app, but it’s handy nonetheless. If you use stock Android or your camera already links to Google Photos, this setting might not be available, but it’s helpful for anyone on a branded phone without stock Android.
